Particularly, the section for the most&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/themes\/browse\/popular\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">popular themes<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All themes you see there have proven to be of great quality and have large user bases behind them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are free to browse through that list and pick any theme you fancy but to speed things up for you in this guide, we recommend&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/themes\/neve\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Neve<\/a>. Let\u2019s do that now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udca1 Y<em>ou can DIY a logo. Here are&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/15-best-online-logo-generators\/\">some of the tools<\/a>&nbsp;you can use to create a logo yourself.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have a logo ready, you can add it to your site. Go to \u201cAppearance \u2192 Neve Options\u201d and click on the link labeled \u201cUpload Logo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/upload-logo-1024x328-2.jpg\" alt=\"How to create a website: upload logo\" class=\"wp-image-15962\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s what you\u2019ll see:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/customizer-logo.jpg\" alt=\"customizer logo\" class=\"wp-image-15696\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This interface is called the&nbsp;<em>WordPress Customizer<\/em>, and it allows you to edit various aspects of your website\u2019s appearance. For starters, you can upload your logo. To do that, click on the \u201cSelect Logo\u201d button that\u2019s near the top left corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WordPress will give you an option to crop the logo, but you can skip that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/logo-added-848x1024-1.jpg\" alt=\"logo added\" class=\"wp-image-15965\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You should see your logo in the corner of the page shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, you can choose if you want to display the site name and tagline alongside the logo, and set the max-width of the logo. Experiment with these settings and pick what works best for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click on the \u201cPublish\u201d button when done (the top left corner), and then click on the \u201cX\u201d button to exit the Customizer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5) Change the Website Color Scheme and Fonts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another thing you can experiment with is changing the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/website-color-schemes\/\">color schemes<\/a>&nbsp;and fonts used on the site. As you\u2019re learning how to create a website, this is an easy fix to make your site more unique and more in tune with your brand identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To begin, go to \u201cAppearance \u2192 Neve Options\u201d again. We\u2019re going to focus on the following two options:<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/change-colors-fonts-1024x301-1.jpg\" alt=\"How to create a website: change colors and fonts\" width=\"750\" height=\"301\"><\/li><li>First, click on \u201cSet Colors.\u201d<\/li><li>Most WordPress themes are defined by the color scheme they use for various elements of the design.<\/li><li>Most commonly, those are colors of the links, texts on the site, and backgrounds.<\/li><li>You can change the color assignments for the Neve theme via the Customizer.<\/li><li>To switch any of the colors, just click on it and pick a new color.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/change-colors-1024x989-1-640x618.jpg\" alt=\"change colors\" width=\"560\" height=\"541\" srcset=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/change-colors-1024x989-1-640x618.jpg 640w, https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/change-colors-1024x989-1-768x742.jpg 768w, https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/change-colors-1024x989-1.jpg 1024w\"><\/li><li>Click on \u201cPublish\u201d and \u201cX\u201d when you\u2019re done.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Changing fonts works similarly:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Click on the \u201cCustomize Fonts\u201d link in the \u201cAppearance \u2192 Neve Options\u201d panel.<\/li><li>Neve lets you pick from a whole catalog of system fonts and Google Fonts.<\/li><li>Just click on the \u201cFont Family\u201d box and select the font you like.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/change-fonts-940x1024-1.jpg\" alt=\"change fonts\" width=\"560\" height=\"610\" srcset=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/change-fonts-940x1024-1.jpg 940w, https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/change-fonts-940x1024-1-588x640.jpg 588w, https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/change-fonts-940x1024-1-768x837.jpg 768w\"><\/li><li>After that, you can fine-tune the individual fonts used for your headings.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experiment with these settings to see the effect they have on your site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To customize the font used for the body section of your site, click on the arrow button near the top left.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/go-back-customizer-640x548-1.jpg\" alt=\"go back customizer\" width=\"560\" height=\"479\"><\/li><li>Click on \u201cGeneral.\u201d This will take you to a similar options panel, but this time you\u2019re adjusting the main body font.<\/li><li>Click on \u201cPublish\u201d and \u201cX\u201d when done.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6) Add a Sidebar<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another thing you can do in the \u201cAppearance \u2192 Neve Options\u201d panel is set how you\u2019d like your sidebar to look. Click on \u201cContent \/ Sidebar\u201d to begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You have three main options here:&nbsp;<em>no sidebar<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>sidebar to the left<\/em>, or&nbsp;<em>sidebar to the right<\/em>. Sidebar to the right is the classic layout for most websites. You can also set the content width. After doing your changes, click on \u201cPublish\u201d and \u201cX.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7) Add Widgets (Free WordPress Add-Ons)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Widgets are those small content blocks that usually appear in websites\u2019 sidebars. Since we\u2019ve just set the sidebar in the previous step, let\u2019s now customize it with widgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To configure widgets, go to \u201cAppearance \u2192 Widgets.\u201d You\u2019ll see this:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/widgets.jpg\" alt=\"How to create a website: customizer\" class=\"wp-image-15972\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the left, you can see all the widgets available; and on the right, there are all the widget areas supported by your current theme. To add a widget to the sidebar, all you need to do is grab the widget from the left and drag and drop it onto the sidebar area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, if you want to list all your pages in the sidebar, grab the \u201cPages\u201d widget and drag it onto the sidebar section. You can also configure some basic settings of the widget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8) Experiment With the Theme You Built<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What we\u2019ve covered above will be enough for you to figure out how to create a website that stands out and looks original, but there are many more options available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To see them all, go to \u201cAppearance \u2192 Customize.\u201d This will fire up the main interface of the Customizer with all its settings and presets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/customizer-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"How to create a website: customizer\" class=\"wp-image-15697\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We encourage you to browse through what\u2019s available there and play around with some of the options. You\u2019ll likely stumble upon some customizations we haven\u2019t discussed here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"pages\">Step 5: Add Content\/Pages to Your Website<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pages are the essence of your website. It\u2019s hard to imagine a website without any pages on it, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From a technical point of view, a web page is just a document on the web. It\u2019s not very different from your traditional Word document apart from it having your website\u2019s branding elements such as the header and footer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Web pages are easy to create in WordPress. But before we get into the how-to, let\u2019s discuss what pages you should create in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most websites will find the following pages essential:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Homepage<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 it\u2019s the first page that your visitors see when they go to your website<\/li><li><strong>About<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>page<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 a page explaining what your website is about<\/li><li><strong>Contact<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>page<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 a page letting visitors contact you<\/li><li><strong>Blog<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>page<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 a listing of your most recent blog posts; if you\u2019re not planning on blogging, you can use the blog page as a place for your company news and announcements<\/li><li><strong>Services<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>page<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 if the website you\u2019re building is for a business, use this page to showcase your services<\/li><li><strong>Shop<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>page<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 for companies that want to launch an eCommerce store<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many of the pages above will be very similar in structure \u2013 the only difference being the content on the actual page. Basically, once you learn how to create one page, you\u2019ll know how to create them all. With that, there is some nuance here, so let\u2019s now cover how to create a couple of basic types of pages:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1) Creating a Homepage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re using Neve, your homepage looks something like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/homepage.jpg\" alt=\"homepage\" class=\"wp-image-15705\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can edit the structure of this page as well as the elements on it (all texts and images).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To do that, just click on the \u201cEdit with Elementor\u201d button in the top bar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/edit-with-Elementor-1024x168-1.jpg\" alt=\"edit with Elementor\" class=\"wp-image-15974\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What you\u2019ll see is the interface of the Elementor page builder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Elementor.jpg\" alt=\"How to create a website: Elementor\" class=\"wp-image-15701\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elementor is what we call a&nbsp;<em>visual page builder<\/em>. This means that you can click any element that you see on the page and edit it directly. For example, if you want to change the main headline, just click on it and start typing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/headline-type-1024x195-1.jpg\" alt=\"headline type\" class=\"wp-image-15975\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you take a look at the left sidebar, there\u2019s a whole customization panel there. You can adjust the structure and the styling of any content block. For example, here\u2019s what you can see when working on the headline:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/headline-style.jpg\" alt=\"headline style\" class=\"wp-image-15703\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another cool thing is that you can&nbsp;grab onto any element on the page, and drag-and-drop it somewhere else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Elementor-blocks-1-574x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Elementor blocks\" class=\"wp-image-15976\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To add new elements, click on the small square icon in the top left corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll see a list of all the content blocks available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grab any of the blocks and drag it onto the page\u2019s canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best way to work on your homepage is to go block by block and edit the demo content that\u2019s on the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Type in new text content, realign some of the blocks, delete the ones you don\u2019t need, and add new ones accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This whole interface is quite intuitive to use, so just spend an hour or so using it and experimenting with different things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2) Create Pages Such as \u201cAbout\u201d, \u201cServices\u201d, \u201cContact\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Creating classic web pages is even easier to do in WordPress than working on your homepage. Go into \u201cPages \u2192 Add New.\u201d You\u2019ll see this interface:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/add-page.jpg\" alt=\"How to create a website: add page\" class=\"wp-image-15977\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every page needs a title, so start by adding one where it says \u201cAdd a title.\u201d For example, \u201cAbout Us\u201d or \u201cContact.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next, pick a page layout. If you\u2019re creating a standard page, you can go with the first one on the list \u2013 \u201cSingle Row.\u201d But to speed things up, you can choose from the template library. For that, click on the blue button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll see a window letting you pick from a range of pre-made page sections. If you\u2019re working on your&nbsp;<em>about<\/em>&nbsp;page, for example, you can quickly find and use the following blocks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/about-page-blocks.jpg\" alt=\"about page blocks\" class=\"wp-image-15683\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just click on the \u201cInsert\u201d button next to the block you like, and it will be added to the page. From there, you can further customize it, change the texts, or replace images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/about-page-edit.jpg\" alt=\"about page edit\" class=\"wp-image-15684\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you\u2019re done, click on the \u201cPublish\u201d button in the top right corner of the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can follow the same process when working on your&nbsp;<em>contact<\/em>&nbsp;page or&nbsp;<em>services<\/em>&nbsp;page as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just pick different page blocks from the template library. For example, these should work great on a&nbsp;<em>services<\/em>&nbsp;page:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/services-blocks.jpg\" alt=\"services blocks\" class=\"wp-image-15718\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to add new page elements by hand \u2013 instead of using the templates \u2013 click on the \u201c+\u201d icon that\u2019s in the top left corner of the editor interface.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/add-block-1024x571-1.jpg\" alt=\"add block\" class=\"wp-image-15978\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any block you select there will be added at the bottom of your page. Here\u2019s what a new paragraph block looks like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/new-paragraph-1024x145-1.jpg\" alt=\"orders\" class=\"wp-image-15979\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you can see, you can edit it freely, change the properties of the text, plus there are color settings in the right sidebar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As always, remember to click on \u201cPublish\u201d when you\u2019re done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3) Create a Blog Page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The blog page is where the listing of your most recent blog posts can be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The good news is that the blog page has already been created for you. This happened when you installed WordPress and the Neve theme. You can see that page by going to \u201cPages\u201d:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/blog-page-listing-1024x415-1.jpg\" alt=\"blog page listing\" class=\"wp-image-15981\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click on the \u201cView\u201d link to see your blog page in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding new blog posts:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To add new blog posts, simply go to Go to \u201cPosts \u2192 Add New.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/add-post-1024x410-1.jpg\" alt=\"add post\" class=\"wp-image-15982\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Does this interface remind you of anything? Yes, this is the same editing environment that we used when creating standard pages. Easy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"navigation\">Step 6: Set Up a Navigation Menu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a range of good-looking pages created, the next step in our quest to how to create a website is to set up your navigation (a website menu). The menu is what your visitors will use to go from page to page on your site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go to \u201cAppearance \u2192 Menus,\u201d and from there, click on \u201ccreate a new menu.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/create-menu-1024x431-1.jpg\" alt=\"How to create a website: create menu\" class=\"wp-image-15983\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s how to create your first menu step by step:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/wordpress-menu-process.jpg\" alt=\"WordPress Menu Creation Process\" class=\"wp-image-14888\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Start by adding a title. The menu title doesn\u2019t really matter, but it helps to recognize your menu among other menus (yes, you can have more than one).<\/li><li>Select the pages to be added to your menu. You can also add other items to the menu \u2013 like posts or custom links.<\/li><li>Click on the \u201cAdd to Menu\u201d button to add the selected pages to your menu.<\/li><li>Drag-and-drop menu items to arrange the links in order of importance.<\/li><li>Select a menu display location. This differs from theme to theme, in this case, set your menu to the \u201cPrimary\u201d location will display the menu in the header.<\/li><li>Lastly, save your menu.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this stage, you\u2019ll see your menu on the homepage in all its glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"store\">Step 7: Add an Online Store\/eCommerce<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last thing we\u2019ll do in this guide is to build ourselves an online store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you wish to add an online store to your newly created website,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/woocommerce-online-store-tutorial\/\"><strong>follow this step-by-step tutorial here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is obviously not something that all websites need, so feel free to skip this step if eCommerce isn\u2019t something you want to get yourself into.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How WordPress eCommerce Works<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With WordPress being such a versatile website platform, it\u2019s no surprise that it can let you build a fully functional eCommerce online store.&nbsp;<em>By fully functional<\/em>, we mean that you can list any number of products, make them available for sale, and then also collect orders from customers and even handle all tax- and shipping-related elements of the whole process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is all done with a plugin called WooCommerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WooCommerce is the most popular, most functional, and frankly the best eCommerce solution for WordPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udca1<em>&nbsp;We have a whole separate guide on how to get WooCommerce running on your WordPress website. We invite you to hop over there and read a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/woocommerce-online-store-tutorial\/\">detailed installation how-to<\/a>.&nbsp;<strong>Follow Steps 3 and 4<\/strong>&nbsp;and then come back here.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026 Okay, so with WooCommerce installed on your site and products added in your catalog, you\u2019ll notice that, in the process, new pages have been created by WooCommerce automatically. Those pages are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>\u201cCart\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 your store\u2019s shopping cart<\/li><li><strong>\u201cCheckout\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 the checkout page where customers can complete their purchases<\/li><li><strong>\u201cMy account\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 each customer\u2019s profile; holds past orders, current details, and other personal information; the customer can always edit their info<\/li><li><strong>\u201cShop\u201d \/ \u201cProducts\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 the main shop page \u2013 the one where your products are listed<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each of these pages serves a specific purpose for your store and its functionality. The good news is that most themes these days are optimized to make those pages look right. The Neve theme is no different. If you visit any of these new pages, you\u2019ll see that the presentation is clear and everything is easy to grasp. Here\u2019s an example of the shopping cart page:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/websitesetup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/cart-1024x639-1.jpg\" alt=\"cart\" class=\"wp-image-15984\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apart from that, all these pages work like any other page on your WordPress website. This means that you can edit them, add your own elements, or change things like colors, layouts, etc. But when you\u2019re doing this, be careful not to erase the WooCommerce shortcodes that are already there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll also notice a new cart icon on the main menu of your site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this stage, your eCommerce store is fully operational. This means that your customers can come in and do their shopping.
