{"id":1899,"date":"2020-09-09T15:42:19","date_gmt":"2020-09-09T13:42:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=366766"},"modified":"2020-09-09T15:42:19","modified_gmt":"2020-09-09T13:42:19","slug":"xbox-series-s-and-x-pre-order-and-launch-dates-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/interwebdev.co.za\/index.php\/2020\/09\/09\/xbox-series-s-and-x-pre-order-and-launch-dates-revealed\/","title":{"rendered":"Xbox Series S and X \u2013 Pre-order and launch dates revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/xbox-series-x-and-s.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Microsoft has officially <a href=\"https:\/\/news.xbox.com\/en-us\/2020\/09\/09\/xbox-series-x-and-xbox-series-s-launching-november-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>announced<\/strong><\/a> that it will launch both of its new consoles \u2013 the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X \u2013 on 10 November.<\/p>\n<p>It also revealed that pre-orders for both of these consoles will open on 22 September.<\/p>\n<p>The global pricing for these consoles, which was previously <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/gaming\/366510-xbox-series-x-pricing-and-release-date-revealed.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>leaked<\/strong><\/a>, was also confirmed to be as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Xbox Series S \u2013 <strong>$299<\/strong><br \/>Xbox Series X \u2013 <strong>$499<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Xbox South Africa has yet to provide official pricing for the Xbox Series X but confirmed earlier today that the recommended retail price of the Xbox Series S will be R6,999.<\/p>\n<p>The Xbox Series S offers <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/gaming\/363386-leak-confirms-microsofts-new-affordable-console-will-be-the-xbox-series-s.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>inferior graphics performance<\/strong><\/a> to the Series X \u2013 4TFLOPS as opposed to the 12TFLOPS of the Series X.<\/p>\n<p>It reportedly will only offer 7.5GB usable memory as opposed to the 13.5GB of the Series X, and unlike the Series X, the Xbox Series S will not be able to play the latest games in 4K with high frame rates.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting, however, that all games for this next-generation range of consoles will be playable across both consoles.<\/p>\n<h3>Xbox All Access<\/h3>\n<p>Microsoft also announced that its Xbox All Access monthly payment product will be available in 12 countries and will include a next-generation Xbox as well as 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.<\/p>\n<p>Xbox Game Pass Ultimate differentiates itself from other console versions of the service by including an EA Play membership at no additional charge.<\/p>\n<p>EA Play offers a number of popular games like FIFA 20, Titanfall 2, Battlefield, Mass Effect, The Sims, and Need for Speed Heat.<\/p>\n<p>Xbox All Access will cost $24.99 per month for the Xbox Series S, and $34.99 per month for the Xbox Series X.<\/p>\n<p>This service will not be available in South Africa this year, but Microsoft said more countries will get access to the service in 2021.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fYtJWIxt3-M\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Now read: <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/gaming\/366722-xbox-series-s-official-south-african-pricing-revealed.html\" rel=\"bookmark\">Xbox Series S \u2013 Official South African pricing revealed<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/gaming\/366766-xbox-series-s-and-x-pre-order-and-launch-dates-revealed.html\">Source: MyBroadband<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft has officially announced that it will launch both of its new consoles \u2013 the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X \u2013 on 10 November.
