A nameserver<\/strong> is a specialized server on the Internet that handles queries or questions from your local computer, about the location of a domain name’s various services.

A great simple way to think about nameservers is using a phone book analogy. If you were trying to call InterWebSA.com<\/em> you might have remembered our phone number, but more than likely you’d want to look it up before just guessing at numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This same story is also true for the Internet and domain names. As an example you’re reading this article right now on our InterWebSA.com<\/em> domain name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this tutorial, we\u2019ll show you how to modify your site\u2019s name servers<\/strong>.

1) Login to the InterWeb SA Client Area<\/a>

<\/strong>2) Click<\/strong> the Domains button.




<\/strong>3) Click on the domain<\/strong> that you would like to modify

In this example, we’re going to select Bredekamp.co.za.<\/em>




<\/strong>5) Select the wrench<\/strong> to the right of the domain

6) Click on the Nameservers on the left of the page<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By default, your nameservers will look like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6) To change, tick Use custom nameservers (enter below)<\/strong> and enter the new Nameservers<\/strong>.
